Fauna
There are many species of animals in the Amazon Rainforest, many have not been discovered.
Two of the reasons of why the Amazon contains most of the species, is because that the ecosystem is one of the oldest and the biodiversity is the richest.
It is hard to tell how many species and types of creatures that live in the Amazon, because it has been unexplored. Although there is around 3000 species of fish,1300 birds, 380 reptiles, 428 mammals and amphibians that has been recorded by scientists.

Golden Lion Tamarins are monkeys that are one of the most
endangered species in the world. These monkeys are like the colour
strawberry-blond, but redder. Their fur is soft, their eyes are usually big and
they have a golden-reddish mane that looks like a lion’s.
Golden lion tamarins adapt to the Amazon with their strong legs that allow them to climb and their long sharp claws, to find food which include, soft fruits, flowers, insects and small invertebrates.
To avoid predators like hawks, cats and large snakes, they share their homes with other Tamarin families.

Toucans are birds that have bright-coloured feathers and a long and colourful beak.
Their beak is mainly used for eating soft tropical fruits, spiders, lizards and other small insects, rather than combat. Since their beaks are long as well as light, they can find food quicker and therefore adapt easily to the Amazon.
Toucan’s feathers also provide them good camouflage from predators like cobras, tigers and jaguars.

Jaguars have a smooth coat in the colour of orange or brown with black spots or rings called rosettes.
They also have big claws which help them find food such as snakes, rodents, monkeys, birds, fish and other animals they can hunt.
Their feet are padded, which helps them to hunt and walk quietly throughout the Amazon, which is one was they adapt.
These animals eat anything and have no predators.
